The Skullcandy App is at the intersection of enabling our next generation of audio products, creating an amazing brand experience, and connecting directly with our consumers. As Product Manager of Skullcandy Mobile Applications, your mission is to drive Skullcandy's App vision, strategy, and program. You will bring internal and external people and teams together to deliver a best in class mobile applications (Android & iOS) and PC Platform applications that meet Skullcandy business goals and consumer needs within scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations. You are strategic, adaptable, team-oriented and excel in managing multiple, ongoing projects with varied size and complexity. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and successfully build projects from the ground up, thinking big and executing at a tactical level. You are excited to drive and deliver the Skullcandy App to consumers across product additions and releases cycles, and new app features and functionality, notably including in-app monetization. You own and manage design and development plans, schedules, budget, roadmaps, app releases and integrations to Skullcandy owned channels. You manage priorities, generate clear plans to meet milestones and product commitments, and continually align and communicate with stakeholders across Skullcandy Senior Management team, Product, Marketing, Ecommerce, and IT departments. You are a humbly confident leader, exceptionally organized, understand technology, and have excellent communication skills.

The leadership role sits on Skullcandy Digital, IT, and direct to consumer Customer Experience team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive Skullcandy App strategy, architecture, and vision along with executive stakeholders and functional department leaders. Define and track to yearly and quarterly program goals.
  • Plan and execute against a path to Skullcandy Mobile Application monetization in the near term.
  • Drive a closer relationship with our customers through the app by aligning centralized login capability, user profile creation, sms and push notifications, and our customer data platform to create a cohesive experience.
  • Develop the app program scope, plan, and schedule. Oversee, report and manage all program work with stakeholder alignment.
  • Facilitate execution of the app roadmap and schedule across resources including Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, Factories, Partners and Skullcandy Marketing, Digital, Service, IT teams. Leverage deep understanding of product roadmap, product features, technology, and requirements.
  • Lead program communications with Executives, sponsors, stakeholders, and team members. Provide frequent and transparent communication regarding project health, issues and risks.
  • Run multiple technical app projects concurrently, reconcile interdependencies amongst them, provide strategic guidance across projects, and facilitate communication among project cross-functional teams.
  • Manage potential large-scale change requests throughout the program lifecycle and prioritize program/project tasks to achieve scope.
  • Leverage professional experience utilizing program/project management tools for scheduling, risk, and task tracking (Smartsheets, Execl, etc) as well as content and engineering tracking systems (Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc) as needed.
  • Generate and socialize app design/UXUI mocks with internal and external design resources.
  • Responsible for app team resourcing to meet program objectives.
  • Responsible for app budget including budget proposals, budget tracking, cost savings management, and third party service and partner invoicing.
  • Manage 1+ direct report(s), including Mobile Applications Project Specialist, to deliver the program across day-to-day management.
  • Responsible for Android and iOS app store management, release process and testing group setups and distributions.
  • Drive app development and release cycles. Lead internal sprint planning, backlog grooming, and create/assign user stories for technical team members.
  • Support Product team with Apple MFI certification process.
  • Oversee mobile app development with external and internal team resources; provide brand and product feature requirements and specification documentation. Manage external app software, development, and technology partners in support of the app program.
  • Drive mobile app testing rounds with support of the Mobile Applications Project Specialist. Write technical test and user acceptance criteria, engage testers, run testing sessions, collect and implement feedback. Ensure project Quality assurance/user acceptance testing with internal and external partners to meet business standards.
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to ensure ongoing engagement and responses to iOS and Android Skullcandy mobile application consumer reviews, and maintain a strong working relationship with Customer Service teams in support of the app.
  • Leverage understanding of analytics tools (such as Firebase) to generate and socialize app analytics and reports. Perform app usage and consumer behavioral analysis to improve guide usability and feature enhancements.
  • Form a comprehensive mobile app advertising strategy to increase uptake and integrate appropriate in-app tracking with our overall digital advertising strategy
  • Perform competitor analysis to keep Skullcandy's Mobile Applications relevant and in line with or above competitor experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years previous Project Management experience
  • 5+ years' previous Product Management experience
  • Relevant mobile applications software product management experience
  • Proficiency with industry project and program management tools such as Smartsheets, Jira/GitHub, Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Comfortable operating in highly technical product firmware and software realms, familiarity with Apple MFI certification process preferred
  • Comfortable advocating for program needs with business Executives and working with Senior Management team members to meet program objectives
  • Ability to articulate business needs cross-departmentally and amidst friction to both technical and non-technical audiences
