A day in the life of a Global Transportation, Sourcing & Procurement Manager looks like:

  • Leads development of relationships and partnerships with global carriers, based on strategic fit
  • Develops carrier scorecards, leads carrier QBR's
  • Manages carrier performance, globally
  • Ensures allocation and compliance to existing global transportation contract rates, terms, conditions
  • Participates in the design, development of a contract repository, with future integration into SAP
  • Participates in the development of sourcing strategies for each mode of global transportation
  • Develops negotiation plans, in alignment with global benchmarks, market intelligence, commercial and legal requirements
  • Develops spend, volume, transit time baselines and recommends optimal standard routing, considering cost, transit time, etc
  • Executes end-to-end RFx processes

To love and be successful in this job, you will need to possess the below competencies, skills and education.


  • BS or BA in in engineering, business or supply chain discipline and 5-8 years in equivalent position.


  • Experience in global sourcing and procurement
  • Consulting experience is a plus
  • High Pressure: you are comfortable talking shop with a CFO or presenting to Execs
  • Driven and dedicated: doesn't mind doing whatever is needed in order to align different time zones.
  • Traveling: regular travels internationally. (50%)
  • Follow Up: You close the loop, button things up, seal it tight. You know what we mean.


  • Systems: you need to know the systems we use and how to use them best. Must be an Excel expert.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external including with nonnative English speakers.
  • Experience with SAP a plus, Must be an expert in Excel
  • People management skills, ability to recognize competencies and use them in the correct way.
  • Team building, needs to find a balance in the team in order to excel.
  • Clear sense of direction, vision and strategy and ability to translate that into company wide projects to support the company as a whole.
