Skullcandy is looking for a Social Media Specialist to oversee content publishing and reporting across the brand's multiple Global social media profiles. This role is key to ensuring content across Skullcandy's social media pages are optimized for audience reach, engagement and growth. Utilizing a comprehensive understanding of the social media platforms we publish on, and understanding conversation segmentation as well as consumer behaviors on these channels, you will to build thoughtful execution plans for the brand's ongoing success.

You will be the daily driving force behind coordinating posting on Skullcandy owned social profiles, bringing to life brand storytelling and product communications. This person will be working cross functionally with the Brand Marketing, Demand Creation and Digital Marketing to ensure alignment in timing and messaging. Social Media is the face of the Brand and our most direct connection to Skullcandy fans. We are looking for someone who is organized, punctual and has a deep passion for social media communications. Being a proactive self-start, clear communicator, and has the ability maintain flexibility to manage tight deadlines is a must. This person is an expert on the outlined social media channels keep us up to date on functionality and optimization. You will be delivering in-depth reporting across all channels post performance, providing insights and recommendations for effectiveness and identifying new, in platform trends to create effective ways to extend our social presence and engage the youth culture community.

  • Work with the Brand and Social Manager to determine goals, strategies, and tactics to be create high performing social media profiles. Focusing on expanding Skullcandy's organic reach, driving awareness and product consideration, as well as building connections with youth audiences and brand affinity with fans.
  • Align social editorial calendar. Collaborate and partner alongside the Brand and Social Manager as well as the Brand Creative Producer to solidify a posting schedule and content delivery timelines.
  • Provide comprehensive posting launch plans and submit creative briefs requesting any and all content needed for the channels to support overall marketing goals, campaigns and communication strategy.
  • Serve as a hub for social content and workflow between our international counter parts as it relates to Marketing support.
    • Maintain International Social Media Dropbox, supporting consistent regional brand marketing.
    • Observe, review and audit regional Skullcandy social media accounts. Send out bi-annual 'report cards' to ensure global consistency across all markets.
    • Develop a best practices 'playbook' surrounding social posting across channels, supporting our distributors with guidelines and effective posting tactics to help broaden Skullcandy's Global presence.
  • Scheduled and publish daily organic posts across Skullcandy social media platforms including, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, and other media platforms as required. Utilize our social publishing platform Falcon. When necessary you will be posting natively to social profiles to ensure optimization of in app features. Has flexibility to work out of hours when necessary.
  • Live event coverage, giving our fans a window into the Skullcandy Culture. Supporting events, parties, and key moment, as requested.
  • Review social media copy, partner with Creative Copywriter and Community Manager on language, message and tone to maintain a unified Skullcandy voice across platforms. Focus on a 'content for conversations' strategy to create dialog with fans across our target audiences.
  • Create weekly and monthly performance reports. Responsible for consistently optimizing content to surpass benchmarks across platforms and campaigns. Provide insights effectively communicate recommendations for refinement, highlighting strengths and future opportunities.
  • Deploy organic boosted paid budgets towards in feed post on channels such as, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, creating Spark ads in TikTok. Working in harmony with an external agency overseeing social paid ad campaigns. Supporting their efforts in growing and building audiences across social platforms.
  • Remain knowledgeable of effective tactics social platforms, including identifying new and emerging channels. Make recommendations on relevant industry happenings and consumer behaviors, cultural moments.
  • Current social profiles and channels include, but not limited too; TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Reddit and LinkedIn.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with concentration or experience in Marketing, Business or Communications.
  • Minimum 3 years in Social Media related marketing roles.
  • Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience; a proven track record in developing and administering successful social media campaigns.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, organized and proactive. Polished presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work well cross-functionally with all levels in the organization.
  • Needs good knowledge of Google Applications (Docs, Slides, Sheets,) Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
