Summary: This position is for candidates with direct hands-on experience architecting, scaling and managing international end-to-end supply chains and NPI, including vendor selection/qualification, volume ramps, and the negotiation and management of JDM, ODM and EMS contracts in the consumer electronics industry.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

  • Maintain and strengthen culture in alignment with mission and vision
  • Manage staffing levels, compensation, promotions, quarterly/annual project goals and career progression plans for all reporting functional groups
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasting budgets for executive team
  • Escalation point for all reporting functional groups for tactical issues

Manufacturing and Product Partner

  • Work with the Product Team to assist with driving product from commercialization to end of life ensuring all timelines and processes are followed.
  • Support and amplify the Skullcandy stage-gate process to ensure program viability, quality, and commercialization potential is maximized.
  • Manage product cost through the product lifecycle as well as all cost down/mitigation initiatives with our China manufacturer.

Global Supply Chain Management (Plan, Procure, Make, Deliver, Return)

  • Manage the Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Manufacturing Interface, Logistics and Sourcing functional groups and activities across all global locations
  • Own and manage all operational vendor relationships
  • Development of multi-year sourcing strategy including critical components that Skullcandy should own and manage to minimize product risk while maximizing year over year cost reductions
  • Continuous cost savings management
  • Identify and implement industry best practices across all reporting functional groups
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPIs to ensure vendors are performing to the levels required
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard new vendors
  • Negotiate and enforce MSAs and LSAs with all vendors
  • Create internal policies, processes or procedures for logistics, sourcing, manufacturing & planning activities
  • Manage all costing, demand and inventory data within internal systems
  • Identify new and/or alternate sources of supply
  • Negotiate best price, quality, service levels and delivery terms for purchased products with contract manufacturers and logistics service providers

Product Manufacturing and Service Quality Management

  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with strategic vendors to ensure performance to maintain cost, service, and quality, and to drive YOY improvements
  • Monitor and enforce Manufacturing Service Agreements / Logistics Service Agreements / Customer Service Requirements to maximize customer satisfaction, and to satisfy Skullcandy business requirements
  • Work with Product Team to implement and execute a global quality management platform with automated and tracked corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Executive experience in managing a global supply chain 10 years at the VP level preferred
  • Advanced understanding of business systems, business processes and financial management (P & L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
  • Strong Communication Skills and executive presence to maintain and strengthen organization's culture; APICS CSCMP and/or PMP (or equivalent) certifications preferred
  • 10 years of experience managing a global team
  • Advanced understanding of product specifications, costed Bill of Material (BOM), and product development processes consumer electronics and/or high tech preferred
  • Vendor Management of Tier 1 contract manufactures (Electronic Manufacturing Services - EMS) and logistics service providers
  • Demonstrated experience in retail supply chain fulfillment operations
  • Advanced user MS Office, SQL, Demand Planning software (Demantra a plus) and MRP experience or equivalent preferred
  • Logistics and/or Contract Manufacturer vendor management (Lean Manufacturing Principles in Low Cost Countries)
  • Engineered Solutions product development
  • Experience in driving organizational financial performance
  • Experience with global supply chain software platforms (ERP, MRP, PLM or FP&A)Experience in import, export, global trade compliance
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Experience managing COGs and scheduling in a foreign manufcaturing environment (i.e. China)
  • College Degree (Business, engineering or related field) with MBA preferred and a minimum of 15+ years' experience in related functions
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed and (potentially) on short notice
