Skullcandy is seeking a Product Line Manager for our core audio product lines. The core audio products are central to Skullcandy's "Music You Can Feel" north star, and core to our customer's experience of music and other content.  As part of the Skullcandy product management team, you will be responsible for defining, driving, and shipping consumer-leading audio products for Skullcandy customers and mentoring and coaching at least one associate product line manager.

 The Product Line Manager quarterbacks complex projects from idea to concept and prototyping through development and delivery. The successful candidate will use "design thinking" and "voice of the consumer" to align our product strategy to the northstar and bring our design pillars to life.  The winning individual will lead through influence to align the entire organization around product roadmaps and launches using our NPI stage gate process to successfully execute against our opportunities

The product manager's closest allies are the Product Marketing team and Product Development team.  The successful candidate will partner closely with the Product Marketing team to create detailed product requirements and work closely with Design, Engineering, Quality and Sales and Operations teams to build and deliver the product. 

 

  • Deliver consumer-driven, innovative products strongly aligned to our north star of "music you can feel" while bringing our design pillars to life in pursuit of our vision to unleash the visceral power of music for all
  • Partner closely with the Product Marketing team to integrate market insights, competitive analysis, consumer segments and consumer insights to ensure Product Marketing and Product Management alignment and synergy
  • Leverage the cross functional "design thinking" ID process to lead with, develop and integrate deep consumer insights and research to generate product requirements that continually exceed customer expectations and define new, market leading products
  • Drive the NPI stage gate process cross functionally.  Be the "quarterback" and ensure all cross functional department deliverables are on time and on quality
  • Lead through influence and leverage all cross functional team members to ensure company-wide understanding and buy-in for product roadmaps and products
  • Methodical understanding and constant research of global/regional market and distribution channel requirements (competition, innovation, assortment, pricing, features, etc...).
  • Partner with the Program Managers and Product Development teams to align on execution strategies and schedules
  • Support development of the roadmap based on consumer, business, and market needs ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and direction
  • Execute on the product roadmap, writing clear and concise requirements and managing prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, technical constraints and business drivers
  • Collaborate across business divisions to define financial product performance goals and budgets
  • Own success metrics for product performance, monitor and communicate updates and roadmap impact.  Be the CEO of your product line.
  • Communicate and align strategy with key internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and shifting priorities as needed
  • Identify opportunities for usability testing and drive execution, measuring and report results.
  • Identify risks, issues, and problems and escalate as appropriate, proposing mitigation plans to overcome obstacles.
  • Execute full range of life cycle management, from enhancements to new development to end of life
  • Partner with the Go To Market team to prepare operations, marketing, sales, supply chain, and support product channels for launch
  • Pursue product and industry knowledge, identify trends and opportunities, and become a subject matter expert on designated products.
  • Own and manage partner relationships for specific engagements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in consumer electronics, gaming or software products or equivalent
